Increasingly today, students in my KM seminars
are very interested in wanting to understand and discuss
the difference between knowledge and wisdom.
There are lots of views on this, but here is mine:
Knowledge changes over time.
Wisdom is unchangeable and is timeless.
Knowledge may be a partial truth, at a particular point in time.
Wisdom is complete truth.
We can develop complex knowledge. We can know simple wisdom.
What's your take on this?

Knowledge is about what's happening around you.
Wisdom is about what's happening within you.
Data:

Knowledge:
Information that is useful, that has use-value – information that can be applied
For example:
Our wedding anniversary is January 1, 2001
Wisdom:
The capacity to apply knowledge.
For example:
Our wedding anniversary is January 1, 2001 – and I’ve already purchased a thoughtful present I know my wife will love!
Knowledge:
I know regular exercise is healthy and good for me
Wisdom:
That’s why I work out at the gym four days a week!
